Just before Thanksgiving of 2016, JC Allen went to the doctor because he felt strange. The diagnosis? A massive spinal chord and brain infection. While lying in the hospital for nearly a month, he formulated a plan to leave his job and pursue a lifetime dream of becoming a writer.
